Until we meet again –

Until we meet again –

Mom was an active parishioner at St Clare of Assisi and as such her wishes were to have her funeral at St. Clare of Assisi. We are honouring these wishes as stated below.

Wednesday August 22nd at 7 pm – Prayers for the deceased, Father Scott presiding

Thursday August 23rd at 11 am – Funeral mass followed by reception at the hall, Father Scott presiding

Location: St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Parish

Address: 2888 Delahaye Drive, Coquitlam

As mom was also a parishioner at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak church and involved in the Slovak community, we will also be having a Slovak mass for her.

Saturday August 25th at 11 am – Mass for the dead (in Slovak), Father Rastislav presiding

Location: Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Parish

Address: 472 East 8th Avenue, New Westminster

In lieu of flowers, we kindly suggest donations to either of the following causes:

St. Clare of Assisi building fund – St Clare’s has been mom’s (and our family’s) community for many years. Mom has both received and given much to this community. Mom’s involvement in Parish Life at St Clare’s enriched her life and those around her. She was involved in Mother’s Prayers, CWL and regularly attended daily mass. We know she will be missed in these circles and in the community as a whole. If you wish to make a donation to St. Clare of Assisi building fund in her name, we will be happy to pass on any donations to St. Clare of Assisi. Donations can be cash or cheque payable to “St. Clare of Assisi”.

BC Cancer Foundation – as many of you know, mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This is one of the cancers that to date, lacks much needed research, screening and treatment options. Along with interest in finding a cure, mom was also very interested in getting genetic and hereditary testing to ensure that we, her daughters, nieces and nephews would have a better chance at pre-screening for this or related cancer. In her final hours of life, mom amazingly made some of the hereditary testing possible for us. (More on that another time.) If you wish to make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation in mom’s name and have it directed to Pancreatic Cancer, you can DONATE HERE.

  1. Dear Family,
I’m truly sad to be unable to attend the prayers tonight and the funeral tomorrow, as I’m out of town on a family vacation. My deep condolences to you all. I’m praying that peace and comfort will be yours over the hours, days and weeks ahead. My thoughts today keep going to remembering all the ways Rozalia impacted me with her graciousness, kindness and unwavering commitment to her faith, family, friends and community. A true example of the love of Jesus in action
